Success happens because we work together
Parents play a special role in our learning community. The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) brings together parents, teachers, and others who are interested in supporting the school. Its purpose is to support learning and programs for students and promote a sense of community.
The organization meets on a monthly basis and includes an elected board as well as several sub-committees. It provides an opportunity for everyone to work together for a common goal. All parents and teachers are encouraged to become involved, even if they only have a small amount of time available. The PTA has its elected chairperson, vice chairperson, treasurer and secretary. The PTA meets regulary with the Director of Schools on Coffee Mornings to talk about all current school issues in a informal setting.

The PTA runs several projects to support the new families at school. Here you can read an WIS Expat Guide. This guide is prepared by our PTA members and contains their own experiences of being newcomers in the city. When you join WIS a member of the PTA Welcome Committee will greet you and hand you a welcome pack. In it you will find helpful information put together by the parents of the PTA. Make sure you come along to our coffee mornings!
Through fundraising, the PTA supports the school in providing “extras” for the students. The PTA runs social events for parents and children. Other activities include volunteering to accompany class field trips and special events, organizing clubs and providing specific assistance requested by teachers.
