The boys Wolves Middle School Soccer Team traveled to Warsaw this weekend for a competition hosted by the American School of Warsaw (ASW). On Friday the boys, who have only been playing together for a few weeks, had a great challenge by playing up to face grade 9-11 students from ASW and Vienna International School. While the team lost all 3 matches they kept improving each match with Alan scoring the Wolves first goal of the season against one of the older Warsaw teams. On Friday we played in a middle school aged tournament that included ASW A team, ASW B team and the British School of Warsaw. The Wolves lost a heart-breaker in the first match to ASW A team 1-0 on a late penalty kick. However, the boys did not let that get them down as they won with ASW B team 2-0 on goals by Piotr P. and Jeremi. Going into the final match the boys needed to win to be crowned the unofficial winners of the friendly tournament and there was no let down as the Wolves defeated the British School of Warsaw 3-0 with Sebastian scoring 2 goals and Piotr S. one goal. Most importantly the boys showed great sportsmanship the entire weekend and represented the school communities extremely well both on and off the field. Next Saturday we will be hosting the Wolves Soccer Invitational with the International School of Krakow and local EKOLA school taking part. The first match is scheduled for 9:45 on the school field.
GO WOLVES!
