Students representing WIS and our sister-school International High School of Wroclaw once again took part in a United Nations Model Conference (MUN).
This time the conference was hosted by The British School of Warsaw, 9th-12th March 2023. The theme of the conference was ‘Through hardships to peace and stability’. The ambassador of The Republic of Ireland in Poland gave an opening speech that focused on the importance and value of diplomacy.
Participation in the conference gave students the opportunity to learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations. Students acted as representatives of countries or organizations and worked to solve the problems of the modern world. MUN teaches skills such as research, public speaking, teamwork, and critical thinking.
Two of our students were honored at the event. Kuba from MYP5 (WIS) was presenting the resolution of his committee during the final General Assembly. During the Closing Ceremony Jacek from MYP5 (IHSW) received a “cookie” award for active participation and substantial contribution.
Well done to all the participants!
