The annual Spirit Week is the best time to build school spirit and focus on chosen features of the IB Learner Profile in a playful way.

It took place from the 13th till the 17th of February and offered many fun activities including Valentine’s Post Office. Each day was devoted to one the IB Learner Profile features. The activities were organized according to the students’ suggestions developed during the preparations as their contribution to the Power of Communication.

So we had “Black and White/Open Minded day”, when we exercised our brains by playing chess, checkers and other boards games during breaks.

The Thursday was a day of being balanced. It was the Fat Thursday then – in  Polish tradition, you celebrate the last Thursday of the carnival season by eating yummy, but unhealthy Polish donuts (pączki).

How can you eat donuts on a Balanced Day?! It’s not easy but possible! The smart solution is eating just one donut (sponsored by the PTA) and lots of healthy snacks (provided by the school). So our students’ and staff were able to keep their diet balanced that day!

Some excercises at the gym showed also clearly that WIS students and teachers are balanced in the literal sense of the word (see pictures!)

We hope that everybody really enjoyed the Spirit Week and that it contributed to better understanding of the IB Learner Profile features in everyday life.
