Today in Physical and Health Education class the MYP 3-5 students (together with the ATUT grade 10 students) had a surprise lesson, where they were exposed to the sport of Lacrosse. We had the honor of welcoming Heath, a Native-American, who has almost 30 years of lacrosse coaching experience as well as 3 Polish guys who are involved with coaching and playing with the Polish national lacrosse teams.
Heath led students through some lacrosse activities and talked with students how Lacrosse is a game of healing for Native Americans. When they step out onto the lacrosse field they leave all the negativity and bad things in their lives at the door and just play. He said that you can pick up these negative things again when the game is over or you can just forget about them and leave them at the door forever.
